Exeter Phoenix (Phoenix Workshop) - Gandy Street Exeter, South West EX4 3LS

17th November 2017 from 2 pm to 9.30 pm

Our sense of self is intimately connected with where we live. The loss of social housing in the UK has impacted how people relate to their homes. For example, the Right to Buy policy offered the possibility of home ownership to social renters, but also saw those unable or unwilling to buy their homes increasingly marginalised by ongoing demolitions, regenerations, and policy interventions.

This event, which comprises an exhibition of works by artist Jordan McKenzie, followed by a film screening (book separately below), explores how art can facilitate ‘finding’ a home in conditions of housing loss and precarity.

  • Exhibition of artist Jordan McKenzie’s works – 2:00pm-7:00pm.
