Exhibition Opening and Talk

We invite you to the opening of this public art exhibition, coinciding with the British Wittgenstein Society's annual conference, which is being held in Exeter 13th-15th June. Featuring a mixture of local and international artists whose work is influenced by Wittgenstein's philosophy, or resonates with his writing. The launch event will include a tour of the exhibition, and a discussion of their work by the artists present.

Artists featured:

Johanna Drucker (from UCLA), has loaned pieces from her 'Wittgenstein's Gallery' print series

Tony Lopez (formerly Prof. at Plymouth) is has loaned his video installation 'More and More' which plays with notions of meaning and symbol arrangements.

Richard Carter (Exeter phD student)  will show some of his prints that deal with questions of graphics and translation.

Exegesis  (poetry collective) will reprise the 'Wittgenstein Vector' installation, and give a reading of some of their poems at the BWS conference.

There will also have pieces by Alan Halsey and John Hall, two very well respected British text artists, and a triptych from Californian artist Sas Colby.

Free and Open to the Public!

Refreshments will be available.
